This qualification is about you and your success. As we are one of the first accredited Centres for the ARMS qualifications, you can be sure that you'll be staying at the leading edge of all developments. This being said, our focus is not on getting you through the ARMS qualification, but rather getting you to deliver commercial gain in the workplace - the qualification comes as a bi-product of your success.

Personally, I do not see any point in gaining a qualification, of any kind, if it does not deliver commercial gain in the workplace. You can be the smartest person in the universe but if you can't deliver results then you are valueless to your company.

Before you begin reading about ARMS and what the qualification is all about, there's a few things that I would like you to understand. Firstly, not all Accredited Centres are the same so you will have to choose your centre very carefully.

Please be aware that if you select us, you will be choosing the most difficult route to the qualification because we insist upon the deliverance of commercial gain in the workplace rather than theory alone and our standards are very high. Remember that our sentiment is that the qualification is a bi-product of your success. If you want a quick and easy route to the ARMS qualification, then look elsewhere. We do not provide you with any shortcuts because we believe that improved results have a higher value than a qualification. If you agree with us then come and join us because we want you to have the business skills that will take you far beyond this qualification.

The Certificate and Diploma in
Automotive Retail Management Standards (ARMS)

At last...now you can create a professional and structured career path with a Motor-Industry specific qualification encompassing all aspects of business planning, management and decision making, designed to improve your individual and business performance.

The Certificate and Diploma in Automotive Retail Management Standards has been developed by leading industry stakeholders, in partnership with Automotive Skills Limited. The qualification is awarded jointly by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). The programme covers 11 units that are fundamental to effective business planning and management within the automotive retail environment.

The Basic Programme Structure
The Diploma programme covers 11 Units for the Automotive Retail Sector which have been identified from the Automotive Retail Management Standards for the Motor Industry and is divided into two parts; the Certificate and the Diploma:

The Certificate covers Units 1 to 10.
We have extracted the standards contained within the 10 units and produced 6 assignments for you to complete. The timescale is two years for completion, which means that you have one assignment every 4 months.

The Diploma covers unit 11.
This part is assessed by evaluation of performance in the workplace. You will gain the Diploma by demonstrating that you can apply the knowledge you have gained during the Certificate and you can make a positive difference to the performance of your business.
